NYC Firehouse.

I can't remember if I ever put this up, But when I went to NY in October I took a quick picture of this firehouse. I don't think this photo does it justice but it was gorgeous. Look at the guilding about the truck door? Detail and care of presentation are what makes things special. To take something as mudance and neccessary as a firehouse and take the time to make it beautiful- that's what matters.

Yay for Jcrew!!

Remember this:

Also remember when I started complaining that Jcrew should be making some of their kids clothing in adult sizes? Well apparently Jcrew reads my blog (in my dreams) and has obliged, behold:

Yep that's right adorable! But unaffordable. At $495 this will only be on my "to-buy" list when it goes on sale- and don't worry I'll be checking everyday.

Excuse This Post

It may be my dorkiest one yet.
I just saw a commercial for this baby last night (see below for the baby of which I speak) and I can't lie I am intrigued. As someone who loves nice upholstry and sumptuous carpets I have also paid the price for these soft surfaces in stains.
In the commercial this little guy steam cleaned the crap out of all sorts of stains and I want to know.... does it actually work? And if so, how do I tell Brian this is a Mother's Day must-have along with all that other stuff I requested.

Bissel: Little Green Proheat- $99.
If you've used it leave your experiences in the comments box to help us all figure out if we're among the Messiah or not.

Adorable glasses for summertime drinks. Carnival glasses sold through fishseddy.com. These are so cute- now to go and "accidentally" break my current glasses.

A Charger I Can Get On Board With.

Chargers are uber formal- and you know me cas-Grace. But I love this charger so much I could convert.

Available through Spitzmiller- now guess the price.... $500 per charger!!! I almost pooped my pants! I guess there goes my dream for a fashionable future.

I'm Not Kidding

Ok listen, seriously, I am a mom but it's not my identity and I am not a nut about all things "mommy related" but these cards are cute!!!! And for real- sometimes you'll meet a mom on the go and want to pass out your info quick. So here we go- Themommycard.com is a company that makes adorable Mom business cards. 200 for $40, 500 for $60 - now that's a deal!

Kitchen Wallpaper

I love good wallpaper. If I lived in a place where I actually wanted to stay I would wallpaper certain rooms. Brunschwig & Fils (a retailer only available to people in the interior design trade- I know annoying) came out with this adorable pattern for Spring/Summer 2009. Perfect to cute-up a kitchen!

I especially like this neutral one- as I am getting older color is starting to irritate me. I know, I suck.

Adorable Ruffle Pillows

Really cute ruffle pillows from Ann Gish- retail for $196 (ouch!!!) but still pretty cute. I bet my incredibly crafty friend Alissa could whip up some babies just like it.

Cast Your Vote!

I have a hat stand right next to my front door and I can't decide if I should move it/get rid of it. Here's a pic of the hat rack:

Now here's the space without the hat stand:

Alright so now let's be honest- this is what it really looks like with the hat stand:

So write in the comments section what you think I should do.

Thanks!!!!!

Paperback Swap

Okay so I just found out about the awesomeness that is PaperbackSwap.com like two days ago but I still want to chat about it.

Paperback Swap only one of the best ideas since eBay and 1stdibs.

PBS is a website where you sign up for free post 10 books, soft cover or hardcover, that you're willing to swap. Earn credits for the books you send off to other people (you pay for shipping) and with the credits requests books you want- which are mailed to you for FREE.

Yes I know this is awesome. I put books up Tuesday night and already have 2 requests and I have been able to get my hands on a couple of books I am way to cheap to pay full price for.

It's Trickled Down.

Does anyone remember like a year ago when I posted a picture of a vintage bathing suit in a frame and I said this is a cute idea? Well here is the idea in the pages of Pottery Barn.... the idea is officially in the mass style lexicon.... so don't do it now! It's offically become common.

Week of the Arts is Over!!!!

Yay!! I would have to say pulling off this festival is one of my biggest accomplishments to date. And now that's it over I don't have to worry about it again until planning begins in September!

Back to my blog:

My favorite piggy bank by Harry Allen sold for $210. Since I saw this pig bank about three years ago I have become a complete brat when it comes to banks and I think this is the best and cutest one out there.... of course I don't own one but I like to pretend I do and let the snobbery continue.
