I don't especially like this piece but it blew my mind for like a solid 30 seconds when I actually was tricked by the optical illusion. It's a Tommi Parzinger cabinet for sale $9500 via dealer Carl Chaffee.

Silver Candle Sticks

I love this image from a recent issue of Martha Stewart Living. I think what makes this picture so special is the silver cream can in the background with the cloth on top. If anyone spots a pair of candlesticks like this - send them my way.

I'm in love. No seriously, I'm in love. I think this clock is the perfect marriage of interesting without crossing the line to kitcsh and high style. This is a repro of a French antique sold at Charlotte Moss for a limited time for $3500. Charlotte Moss is in NY for all my NY readers (2 of them ...maybe) Anyway I want this, but of course I want the real antique and I think this might be my raison d'être and it will be my life long search.... damnit I don't need anymore lifelong quests... I already have a hat, another clock and a specific mink coat.

Cool Dresses

Above: Marchsea at Saks Fifth $600. Love this, very cool and interesting.
Above: Galliano, at Saks Fifth $930. Parts of this dress I love and parts I dislike. I think I would like the dress more if it were less torn looking. The torn aspect doesn't fit with the soft color and flowiness of the fabric. I get it, they're trying to do this push and pull, soft and hard thing, but I don't think it works.

Above: Temperley London at Saks Fifth $1695. Of course Temperley London makes something once again so interesting and so expensive. I think this dress is awesome and spiderweb like.

Vintage Children's Books

From a 1760's children book A Little Prett Pocket Book Intended for the Instruction and Amusement of Little Master Tommy. How cute is this image! I love old childrens books, they are just so cute and beautiful. I recently bought Clementine Clementina the Flying Pig a early 1930' s book that is just adorable! And of course I had to have it since Clementina and Clementine are kinda similar... right?

I would love anyones recommendations on other great vintage children's books!

Dress

I like the idea of this dress, but there is something about this version that bothers me. I think it's that the fabric looks like a cheap cotton in this photo. However I like the idea of the ribbon binding and the drop waist.

Piece de Resistance

This dress pretty much sums up my style, geometric, glamorous and layered. This dress is by Iisli ( def. spelling error there) and can be purchased at Nordstrom. I liked this view of the dress but when I saw the behind view, I didn't like it as much. I think an elegant racerback would be a great way to make this look complete.

Cameo Earrings

What a great way to add some traditional style jewelry to your look without going super old fashion with a broach. I love the top one, and the bottom one I like the photograph and the contrast of gold black and pink.

Peter Som

Designer Peter Som created this dress a few seasons ago and I just remembered how much I love it. To me this dress is perfect but something I could never think up on my own.
